Aromas of stonefruit, lemongrass, gooseberry and passionfruit typical of the Awatere Valley. Fresh, juicy, tropical fruit and gooseberry characteristics on the palate with good concentration. A pleasing mineral note leads to a long lingering finish. A wine to be shared.
Winery: Awatere River
Awatere River has been created by Louis Vavasour, part of a well-known winemaking family, who settled in the Awatere Valley in 1890 and built the first winery here in the early 1980s.
A Roseworthy College graduate, Louis honed his craft working as an assistant winemaker in France, California and Australia, before returning to the place where he was born to start his own winemaking business.
Awatere River is the culmination of 10 years immersion in winemaking and draws on over a century of Vavasour family tradition.

Culinary Recommendation: To serve at 12 - 14 C. Good match with Vegetables, Salads and Green Vegetables.
