Wines from the Bordeaux Supérieur appellation are made under stricter laws, setting it higher winemaking standards, in the hopes of creating richer, more complex wine. For example, Bordeaux Supérieur wines must be aged for at least twelve months in oak barrels before being bottled.
Estate: Château La Gabarre is situated in the village of Galgon on the Right Bank, near Lalande-de-Pomerol. The estate has been in the hands of the Gabard family since the 19th century, but the winemaking process is modern, simple and straightforward.
