Domaine François Décombe, producer Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux Déméter, is located in the Blayais region, with a hilly landscape of small hills, near the Gironde estuary.
The winery farm it's grapes using organic and biodynamic standards under the label Déméter.
Biodynamic, and no wood (concrete for two years) is absolutely not a standard in Bordeaux, however it brings a unique and beautifully well balanced wine focused on the fruit and the perfect amount of tannins to be enjoyed in the present, not in 30 years.
The estate is managed by François Décombe, a passionate winegrower who operates only 6 hectares of vines to which he takes the greatest care to evolve it with the nature and surrounding countryside that surrounds it with it's magnificent richness of discovery of perfume, color, fauna and flora.
The grape varieties for the reds are Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon while the whites are Sauvignon.
The difference between the La Haie Bordeaux and the La Haie Blaye Cotes de Bordeaux wines is that there are some parcels that cannot go into the Blaye because of border restrictions, and the highest quality grapes from the Blaye will not go into the Bordeaux.
Ruby red in colour with aromas of sweet black plum and spicy oak, fig and rose petal. The palate is medium-bodied spicy round and smooth showing maturity of fruit, good integration, complex and long. A great value Bordeaux
